Sytner Group’s used car supermarket division will launch a new drive-in service centre concept when it opens the doors to its 10th CarShop site in Bristol this weekend.
Sixty-five new jobs will have been created with the opening of the new 600-car facility, located on a seven-acre site off Bolingbroke Way, Little Stoke, Bristol, when it opens its doors to the public on Saturday (November 30).
CarShop’s new location represents a £14 million investment and becomes Sytner’s the third store in the South West, alongside Swindon and Cardiff.
The car supermarket division now has sites in Bristol, Cardiff, Doncaster, Manchester, Northampton, Norwich, Sheffield, Swindon, Wakefield and Warrington.
CarShop chief executive, Jonathan Dunkley, said: “We are delighted to announce a new store in Bristol, and proud to be generating exciting new career opportunities to residents of the city and surrounding areas.
“Car buyers in and around Bristol will now have better access to our convenient, friendly and guided buying experience and more than 9,000 cars across the UK.
“CarShop offers an award winning digital and car buying experience which we can’t wait to bring to Bristol.”
Sytner officially rebranded its car supermarket division to bring its sites operating as The Car People brought under the CarShop banner back in June.
Earlier this year the division was also given the green light from planning officials to redevelop a former Homebase DIY facility on Queens Road, Nottingham, into another new site.
The opening of the new Bristol store already has plans to be heavily involved in charity and supporting the local community, with £1 from every car sold being donated to either CarShop’s national charity, Global’s Make Some Noise or the store’s nominated local charity, Young Bristol.
On December 5, British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) racing driver, Aiden Moffat will be at the store to celebrate the opening and welcome customers, take photos and sign autographs.
Carl Jackson, head of business at CarShop Bristol, said: “I am so excited to be bringing the CarShop experience to Bristol.
“We have a fantastic team, a great range of cars on offer and a brand new drive-in service centre, the first of its kind for CarShop.
“We are looking forward to opening our doors and working with the Bristol community. CarShop Bristol will be a one-stop shop for car buying, selling and servicing.”
