Nine months after an application was submitted planners have given approval for Dick Lovett's Porsche dealership in Swindon to expand.

The business, which will adopt Porsche's latest corporate identity, wants to expand its showroom, increase its aftersales capacity and double the number of outside parking and display spaces.

Its application stated that the expansion would also lead it to increase its workforce by 10 jobs, making the dealership home to a 50-strong team.

The existing property was built in 2015, but it now needs updating to the latest 'Destination Porsche' showroom style in line with the carmaker's franchise standards, including the new 'eyelid' detail.

It's the latest in a multi-million pound investment programme in Porsche for Dick Lovett, which will move its south Wales Porsche dealership from Cardiff to a new-build site at nearby Newport in spring 2024, just off junction 28 of the M4 motorway, which will include a 15 space new car showroom, a 40 space used car showroom over two floors, customer meeting rooms and working pods plus a 21-bay workshop with an enclosed service drop-off lane.

“We aspire to be the best in the industry” said Rebecca Maloney, property director, Dick Lovett, about the Newport site. “Meeting that ambition means combining our passion for cars and motorbikes with a deep understanding of the needs of the modern motorist.”

“This latest Porsche Centre demonstrates our continued investment in the provision of the very best when it comes to sales and service technology – a genuine destination facility. We look forward to inviting our customers to experience it.”

The Newport Porsche dealership will offer a collection and delivery service across south Wales to support existing customers inconvenienced by the move to Newport.
