BMW’s new 2 Series Coupe M2 will go on sale in the UK in April next year priced from £44,070.

The new model joins BMW’s lineage of models like the E30 M3 and M1 and comes with a new 370hp 3.0-litre straight-six engine with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology.

The new M2 can reach 0-62mph in 4.3 seconds when mated to an optional seven-speed M DCT gearbox and it has an electronically limited top speed of 155mph.

Official combined fuel consumption is 33.2mpg when fitted with a six-speed manual gearbox, and 35.8mpg with the optional M DCT. The CO2 emissions are 199g/km and 185g/km respectively.

The automatic transmission offers a choice of six driving programs (three in automatic mode and three in manual mode). The Comfort, Sport and Sport+ settings can be activated using the Driving Experience Control switch. The new model comes with an integrated launch control function.

Standard equipment includes sports seats, in black Dakota leather with blue contrast stitching and an M logo in the backrests, navigation system, media package and Xenon headlights as standard. M logos are sldo included on the rev counter, gearshift lever, door sill plates and an M leather steering wheel with shift paddles. An interior comfort package is also included as standard.

Customers can specify their M2 in Long Beach Blue metallic, Alpine White, Black Sapphire and Mineral Grey at no extra cost.
