Kia’s flagship Stinger GT has officially gone on sale in the UK with a choice of five specifications priced from £31,995.

Order books for the Korean brand’s only rear-wheel-drive model were opened at the beginning of October but customers can now officially purchase the Stinger after production got underway this week.

There will be five versions, based on three trim grades (GT-Line, GT-Line S and GT-S) and three turbocharged engines and a choice of a 200PS 2.2-litre CRDi diesel engine capable of 50.4mpg, a 245PS 2-litre turbocharged petrol engine or a range-topping 3.3-litre twin-turbo V6 with 366PS.

The range tops out with the £40,495 Stinger GT S 3.3 T-GDi V6.

All models drive the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic gearbox with five different shift and throttle programmes and the option of full manual control using the steering wheel-mounted paddles.

The standard specification includes an 8-inch touchscreen navigation system which is linked to Kia Connected Services with TomTom, giving traffic, weather and local search information, and even warning of speed cameras.
