7 2018 Mazda 6 facelift

Mazda has announced pricing and specifications for the facelifted Mazda 6 and Mazda 6 Tourer.

Having debuted at the Geneva Motor Show, Mazda has confirmed the new car will be available with a new 2.5-litre petrol engine and a more powerful version of the existing 2.2-litre diesel.

The facelift introduces revised styling, an upgraded cabin and improved technology.

Priced from £23,045 to £32,795, the combined Tourer and Saloon range is available in four trim levels: SE-L Nav+, SE-L LUX Nav+, Sport Nav+ and GT Sport Nav+.

The base SE-L model now includes LED headlights, front and rear parking sensors and radar cruise control.

LUX adds heated leather seats and heated steering wheel plus reversing camera.

Sport models feature larger alloy wheels, a Bose speaker system and keyless entry, while range-topping GT Sport gets Nappa leather ventilated seats and a sunroof.

“With new powertrain technology, fresh premium design details inside and out, revised model grades and more standard technology, the new Mazda6 is a thoroughly re-engineered and refined update of our stylish flagship,” said Jeremy Thomson, managing director Mazda Motors UK.

The new model promises improved refinement, better handling and greater efficiency.

A range-topping 2.5-litre (194PS) Skyactiv-G petrol engine makes its UK debut with a cylinder deactivation system to improve real-world fuel economy at no cost to performance.

The 2.0-litre (145PS or 165PS) petrol unit has been enhanced with new intake ports, new pistons and revised fuel injection and cooling. Plus, the popular 2.2-litre diesel now produces 184ps (up from 175ps) in its highest state of tune.

Inside a larger eight-inch centre display screen is fitted, alongside a seven-inch screen positioned in the driver’s instrument binnacle.

The dashboard and door trim designs have been redesigned, seat comfort has been improved and the flagship GT Sport Nav+ features Mazda’s signature high-end interior finishes including real Sen Wood trim with Brown Nappa leather and suede upholstery.

With an increase in standard active safety equipment across the range, all models now feature a larger range of advanced i-Activesense technology including; Blind Spot Monitoring with rear cross traffic alert, Mazda Radar Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist and Advanced Smart City Break Support.

The new model will be on sale in the summer with more information on fuel efficiency and emissions expected shortly.
