Suzuki GB will launch its new Swift Sport performance hatchback with a £1,500 discount available to customers who buy the car before the end of June.

The new lightweight hatchback, which will reach UK showrooms on June 1, will be priced at £16,499 throughout June before reverting to its full on-the-road price of £17,999.

A £750 Finance Deposit Allowance (FDA) is offered for the launch month, with no further customer deposit required.

The offer results in monthly PCP payments of £258 per month based on a 49-month agreement with a final optional payment of £5,943.

Customers opting to place a deposit of £2,530 plus the £750 Finance allowance will reduce their payments to £199 per month.

Both agreements have a representative APR of 5.9 per cent and are based on 8,000 miles per annum.

A Hire Purchase arrangement, which also attracts the £750 allowance, returns monthly payments are £368 over 48 months, with payments reduced to £299 per month if a customer chooses to place a deposit of £2,954.

Suzuki’s performance version of the Swift has found over 11,500 UK owners since its launch in 2006 and should deliver between 1,500 and 2,000 sales per annum in its new guise, according to Suzuki GB managing director Dale Wyatt.

A 140PS 1.4-litre four-cylinder Boosterjet turbo engine offering CO2 emissions of 125g/km and combined fuel consumption of 50.4mpg replaces the previous Swift Sport’s 1.6-litre normally-aspirated unit.

The engine boasts a 44% boost in torque to 230Nm available from just 2,500rpm.

Among the standard features of the Swift Sport are: sports seats; automatic air conditioning; satellite navigation; LED daytime running lights; 17-inch alloys; body coloured door mirrors; and electric windows.
