A new range topping Audi SQ2 will be available to order before the end of the year, featuring a 300PS petrol engine.

The performance-focused model is fitted with S sports suspension and Quattro all-wheel-drive, which enables zero to 62mph acceleration time of 4.8 seconds and a top speed of 155mph.

Powering the SQ2 is a 2.0-litre TFSI petrol engine combined with a seven-speed S Tronic automatic gearbox.

As well as high-performance shifting with manual override, the SQ2 also has an efficiency mode to improve economy.

The car sits 20mm lower than a standard Q2 and Audi has re-designed the stering rack to improve driveability on the range-topping model.

New bumpers and grilles enhance the looks and buyers can choose from 18- and 19-inch wheel options.

Pricing is yet to be announced but the SQ2 will come equipped with sport seats and steering wheel, a front centre armrest and automatic air conditioning.

Gearshift paddles and Audi’s Virtual Cockpit will be optional, as will a connected infotainment system and Bang & Olufsen speaker system.

The new Audi SQ2 will be presented for the first time during the 2018 Paris Motor Show on October 2. It will become available to order in the UK in late 2018 ahead of first UK deliveries in early 2019.
