Automotive Management reported earlier this week that Jameel Motors is in the advanced stages of finding a new leader and meanwhile its head of finance Jeremy Wood has taken on a role as acting managing director, supported by the full leadership team.
Motus Group (UK) chief executive Rob Truscott said: "In Tom Carney, we believe we have found the ideal replacement, a senior executive with high level experience in franchise management, operations and sales. He will undergo a thorough handover programme, with both David Peel and others in Pentagon, and will be fitting into his new role swiftly and smoothly."
In his long motor retail career Peel (pictured below) headed the manufacturer-owned Robins and Day dealer group, since rebranded as Stellantis&you, and he was managing director of Peugeot UK prior to joining Pentagon in 2021.
Truscott added: "David has been a valued and trusted colleague, helping steer Pentagon Motor Group through the often-tortuous market of the past few years. He leaves with the gratitude and best wishes of the group for a retirement with his wife and family."
