Wessex Garages has appointed James Bicknell as general manager at its Gloucester Nissan, Kia and Fiat site.

Bricknell will oversee the sales, servicing and parts operations related to all three brands at the Mercia Road dealership and will manage a team of 32 people across all departments.

Chris Wiseman, operations director at Wessex Garages, said: “We’re thrilled that James will be heading up our Gloucester branch.

“Prior to his promotion he was our Nissan brand manager at the dealership for four and a half years and it seemed like the perfect time to promote him to general manager.

“He works extremely hard and his dedication to the company goes above and beyond. James also has a wealth of knowledge to share having worked in the motor industry for 17 years.”

Bricknell started his career in the automotive industry when he was 20-years-old as a trainee sales executive for a car dealership in Gloucester. And was a business manager for Volkswagen in the town prior to joining Wessex.

He said: “I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to become the general manager of Wessex Garages’ Gloucester dealership.

“I have had a great experience with the company so far and I look forward to many more years at Wessex.”
