New Kia Motors (UK) Limited marketing director David Hilbert has said there is a “great deal more to come” from the Korean brand after announcing his move from Toyota (GB) plc.

Hilbert, Toyota’s general manager of vehicle marketing for the last three years, will officially take up post at Kia on September 1.

The Loughborough University graduate has held a variety of marketing, sales and purchasing roles within Toyota.

On his move to Kia, Hilbert said: “I am really excited to be joining Kia at this point in time – the brand has gone through a massive change over the last few years and has surprised motorists and the industry alike with its focus on design, reliability and appeal.

“There have been some amazing products recently – the all-new Sportage for example – and I know there is a great deal more to come.”

Hilbert added: “Kia has a fantastic dealer network – some of whom I know from my Toyota experience – and is committed to providing the very best customer experience both in sales and service.

“It will be my job to ensure that growth continues and that we work together to make the Kia brand even more surprising and satisfying.”

Simon Hetherington, commercial director at Kia Motors (UK) Limited, said: “We are very pleased David is joining us as our momentum and growth continues and with four all-new models on the way in 2017.

“I am confident he will apply his excellent marketing experience to our activities and will help lead the continuous willingness to change and develop throughout the company and the network.”
