Changes at the top at Moneybarn are set to see Shamus Hodgson move from his current role as commercial director to the position of managing director.

Hodgson’s move comes after previous managing director, Peter Minter, announced that he would be stepping down to become non-executive chairman following the decision of Peter Crook, chief executive of Provident Financial Group, to vacate the role to become a non-executive director.

A statement issued by Moneybarn said that, during his 14 years as managing director, Minter had “driven the growth of the company from a niche finance provider to the UK’s leading non-prime motor finance company”.

Minter said: “After a thoroughly enjoyable time as managing director, I am delighted to move onto my new role as non-executive chairman.

"I am equally delighted that Shamus Hodgson will step into the role of managing director and I am confident that his experience of the business and the industry will continue to drive Moneybarn forward.”
