Jardine Motors' former head of tax Robert De La Rue has joined RSM as a partner as the business looks to strengthen its national automotive practice.

Having worked at Jardine for three years as head of tax with the AM100 retail group, De La Rue (pictured) has over 11 years of experience across the tax industry with previous roles within the FTSE100, 'Big 4' accounting firms and HMRC.

Jardine Motor Group’s chief executive, Neil Williamson, said: “Robert has been our ‘expert in the room’ for all tax matters in the motor industry. He truly understands the business and consistently adds value for both dealership and head office teams. We wish him every success in his new role with RSM.”

In his new role, De La Rue will work alongside RSM’s head of automotive Alison Ashley to deliver sector specific tax advice to a growing portfolio of motor dealerships.

RSM’s head of automotive, Alison Ashley, said: “Robert’s appointment enhances our automotive practice and is a significant move for us as we look to expand our national capability. He brings a wealth of automotive experience to the role and is well placed to add real value to our growing portfolio of motor clients.”

De La Rue said: “I look forward to drawing on my previous experience to help motor organisations to progress key opportunities, whilst managing or mitigating risk.”
