Groupe Renault has appointed Olivier Murguet as the executive vice-president of its new sales and regions division.

Murguet, who joined the French manufacturer in 1990 and latterly held the post of chairman for the Americas region, will report to chief operating officer Thierry Bolloré and will become a member of Groupe Renault’s Executive Committee (CEG).

Bolloré said: “To increase the efficiency of our commercial operations and make them more profitable, Groupe Renault is setting up this new sales and regions division.

“I have every confidence in Olivier Murguet. His knowledge of Groupe Renault and his international experience will be essential to fuel our global growth and thus contribute to achieve the objectives of the Drive the future plan by 2022."

The newly-created sales and regions division will be effective from November 1 and consists of all five regions in which the Renault operates: Europe, Eurasia, Americas, Africa-Middle East India, Asia-Pacific.

Renault said that the division would drive the key activities related to the group's commercial performance, namely:

worldwide sales of electric vehicles (EVs), commercial vehicles (CVs), used vehicles, corporate fleets and new mobility services, Sales forecasting and programming,

products and after-sales services.
