MotoNovo Finance has promoted Matt Lucas to the newly created position of head of partnerships & transformation.

Lucas moves to the business’s senior leadership team from his current role as regional manager.

He said: "My new role is all about combining my extensive dealer-facing experience within the newly formed team I now lead, with best in class innovations, partnerships and technology.

“The motor retailing model is evolving rapidly and we are committed to helping dealers embrace change and create an ever-evolving model that ensures offline and online dealers remain a valued part of people and businesses' vehicle buying and ownership or usage experience."

The Partnerships & Transformation Team includes all of MotoNovo's partnership, specialist asset, sales development and distribution functions, including field sales specialists, distribution specialists, L&D specialists and partnerships, along with plans to grow in new specialist asset classes.

MotoNovo underwent a leadership change last year, when Karl Werner was promoted to managing director after its chief executive Mark Standish left the business.

Werner made the move from his post as deputy chief executive following Standish's decision step-aside after overseeing the integration of MotoNovo within parent Aldermore Group.

Speaking of Lucas’s promotion, Werner said: "I see this as a crucial appointment that reinforces our long-held dealer-centric commitment and our reputation for fresh thinking. That we have appointed someone from our sales team to lead the team says much for the practical, results-focused nature of the role. Knowing Matt well, I'm confident that he will hit the road running."
