ADESA UK has opened a second de-fleet centre on a 21-acre site in Doncaster to meet growing demand for its online remarketing services.

The addition of the secure site, built on a former RAF base, marks the creation of the company’s second strategic de-fleet centre following last year’s opening of a site in Newbury.

ADESA, which is a business unit of KAR Global, said in a stamen that the Doncaster de-fleet centre would be used to store, process, clean and photograph vehicles from major leasing companies and corporate fleets before being uploaded to ADESA’s remarketing platform.

Jonathan Holland, managing director of ADESA UK, said: “The quicker we can get vehicles uploaded and appearing online, the quicker a dealer can source that inventory and our sellers can maximise their returns.

“The new Doncaster de-fleet centre allows us to process more vehicles in a timely manner — helping us disrupt lengthy mainstream turnaround times and create a more seamless, best-in-class experience for our customers in northern England.”

The new Doncaster de-fleet centre is equipped with the latest onsite remarketing capabilities including ADESA IVI (Intelligent Vehicle Inspection), the AI-enabled appraisal solution and AuctionTrac, the web-based vehicle tracking technology, helping reduce the time it takes to get a vehicle listed online.

The facility is already processing vehicles from major fleets.
