G3 Vehicle Auctions have announced the development of its new wheelchair accessible vehicles (WAV), light commercial vehicles (LCV) and motorbike auction centre in Leeds.

The new G3 Leeds marketplace will hold the opening sale on February 12 at 10am, where over 150 WAVs will be offered from the Motability Scheme fleet by Motability Operations, alongside a selection of LCVs, said G3.

G3 said it has worked with Motability Operations since 2017 to offer their vehicles through weekly Monday sale events and has built a national buyer network for their fleet stock.

The additional WAV vehicles will create a new sale event, with a dedicated WAV auction at the G3 Leeds centre.

Matt Dale, co-owner and director at G3 Vehicle Auctions, said: “We’re delighted to finally announce a whole host of updates in the next phase of development for G3.

“The investment of a new WAV and LCV centre allows us to increase our focus on specialist auctions with dedicated sales to suit vehicle types.”

To help support the new development, G3 has recruited Anthony Aspinall recruited from a national competitor, to bring his knowledge and auctioneering skills to the new centre.

Dale said: “By working closely with Motability to create a new remarketing solution for their WAV stock and recruiting Anthony with his expert knowledge, we believe we have all the tools to make the G3 Leeds centre the go-to auction for this type of stock.”

Backing the launch of the new centre will be new LCV vendors including Euro Car Parts, United Rental and Sanctuary Group with to be announced, said G3.

In September 2020, AvailableCar signed a five-year disposal agreement with G3.

It will see up to 50,000 AvailableCar vehicles disposed of through G3’s online and physical auctions over the duration of the agreement.

The centre will also house a dedicated motorbike sale, with up to 40 bikes offered from finance vendors including Billing Finance, First Response on February 18, 2021.

Dale said: “We have seen near 100% conversion rates for our LCV stock throughout 2020, so with plenty of additional stock lined up to add to our established commercial vendors we are building a dedicated location for buyers to source even more of these in-demand commercial vehicles, both online and in our physical auction hall very soon.”

G3 have also been confirmed as a remarketing partner for NEPO, with the North East Procurement Organisation acting on behalf of the local authorities in the North East.

The remarketing of their fleet vehicles, LCV and plant will also be offered through the new G3 Leeds auction centre.

G3 said the Leeds facility has the capacity for over 20,000 vehicles a year through the 4-acre site, which will host both physical and online auctions and includes a 200-vehicle undercover hall and a 360-degree imaging studio on-site.

The G3 Leeds site is positioned in the A1, M1, M62 triangle and follows the £12m vehicle marketplace which opened as G3 Castleford in January.
