The SMTA (Scottish Motor Trade Association) has partnered with Cap HPI to offer an approved vehicle check for its members.

Exclusively available to SMTA members, the check is backed by HPI provenance data, including the NMR (National Mileage Register) checks and NMR investigation.

Wendy Swaine, head of retail at Cap HPI, said: “We are proud to be working with the SMTA, one of the UK’s most proactive motor trade membership organisations.

“This new partnership is a testament to the trust we’ve established, and we look forward to providing an unrivalled data service to the members ensuring they remain at the forefront of the organisation’s focus.”

Sandy Burgess, chief executive of the Scottish Motor Trade Association, said: “Cap HPI is a reputable and trusted automotive brand, the data accuracy is comprehensive and reliable and the support is first class.

“We anticipate this growing from strength to strength as the member numbers increase.”

Cap HPI is the primary source of vehicle information for the UK motor industry and motoring consumer, encompassing both the HPI database of all UK road registered vehicle descriptions and histories and the National Mileage Register (NMR) which holds more than 200 million mileage readings.

The SMTA represent all aspects of the retail motor trade in Scotland from the large franchised dealer groups to small one man motor businesses in some of the more remote parts of the Western Isles.

It currently offers a wide range of free and discounted services to over 1,100 member firms.
