Citroen is confident of attracting new customers with its C3 hatchback, which goes on UK sale next year.

The C3, positioned between the Saxo and Xsara, will be unveiled at Frankfurt motor show next month. It features Citroen's new 70hp 1.4 HDi and 92hp 1.4 16v HDi direct injection diesel engines that have been jointly developed by PSA Group and Ford. Also available are 75hp 1.4i and 110hp 1.6i 16v units, while a sequential auto-adaptive automatic gearbox will also be available.

Alain Favey, Citroen UK managing director, said: “The introduction of C3 to the Citroen range at the beginning of next year will herald another chapter in the company's ongoing success in the UK. C3 is sure to introduce new drivers to the marque with its stylish and attractive looks.”
