Audi has launched the first diesel version of the A3 with four-wheel-drive. The Audi A3 1.9 TDI quattro is available now for £20,040 OTR in three-door form and £20,660 for five-door.

The power unit is the 1.9-litre, four cylinder 130bhp TDI unit, allied to a six-speed manual gearbox, giving the A3 (pictured) a 0-62mph time of 9.1 seconds and a maximum speed of 126mph.

In the extra urban cycle it can cover up to 57.7 miles per gallon.

Specification mirrors that of the A3 1.8T quattro Sport and includes 16-inch competition wheels, front sport seats, sports suspension and steering wheel and electronic climate control.
