Proton will launch the 1.5 Sport version of the Proton Satria with GTi looks and generous equipment levels for £9,299 on the road this month.

Featuring the blister wheel arches, side skirts, low front spoiler and aerodynamically designed rear wing seen on the Satria GTi, the Satria 1.5 Sport features a 1.5 litre 86 bhp engine.

The car features height adjustable power steering, driver's airbag, engine immobiliser, tinted glass, central locking, electric windows, carbon fibre fascia, MOMO-style leather gear knob, alloy wheels and Lotus-derived ride and handling.

Proton has reintroduced one year's free fully comprehensive insurance on the Satria 1.8 Gti, which £12,999 OTR.

This month also sees the UK launch of the Malaysian manufacturer's first home grown model - the four door Impian saloon.

As an added incentive to buyers, a choice of three years servicing, metallic paint or two years extended warranty is available free of charge to all customers buying an Impian before 30th September.

All customers visiting a Proton dealer showroom to view the Impian this summer will also gain the chance to win the latest version of the Lotus Elise sports car in a free prize draw.

A choice of added value options such as metallic paint, six disc CD autochanger and two years extended warranty is also being offered by Proton's UK dealer network free of charge on selected Wira and Satria models, while a range of special finance schemes including a 9.6 per cent APR offer on the Impian will run throughout the summer.
