OK so maybe that's a bit of a wide generalisation.

I was in Thessaloniki last week testing the new Subaru Forester and the UK journalists ended up having to share the fleet of cars with the Dutch journalists.

We got to the half way point in our automatic and asked the German lady in charge of the Forester fleet if we could have a go in the manual.

She said we had to go and ask the Dutch journalists if they would swap.

English journo: "Excuse me, would it be possible to swap for your manual."

Dutch journo: "No. No Swapping. We will not swap."

We ended up having to drive the same car over the off road course and drive the manual version up and down the road in the car park for 10 mins so we didn't miss our flight back to the UK.

I couldn't believe how uncooperative they were, although judging from my experience with journalists on other launches i'm beginning to think it's more of a motoring writer trait than a specifically Dutch problem.
