Simon Bailes Peugeot will support a multi-medal winning rower with a car, while she targets Olympic success.

Beth Bryan, from Stockton-on-Tees, a member of the GB Rowing Team, will receive a car for the next three years in the run up to Olympic qualification and the 2020 Tokyo Games.

She trains full time, including three sessions a day over six days a week, and travels all around the country, and internationally, to train and compete.

“My absolute dream is to qualify for the 2020 Olympics and do Team GB proud and this would not be possible without the help of businesses like Simon Bailes.  I am so grateful and will be looking to give something back by helping and supporting other young people, which I know is something Simon himself is very keen on,” said Bryan.

The Northallerton-based Peugeot retail group, which has sites in Northallerton, Stockton and Guisborough, has supported two Olympic athletes in the past.

“I approached Simon Bailes because I know that he has a fantastic ethos of supporting the local community, whether it is grass roots sport, community events or charities.  I felt that we could work together because it is really important to me that I use my successes to help inspire and motivate youngsters, whether it is to get involved in sport or to make the most of the opportunities that come their way,” Bryan added.

Simon Bailes, who owns the business, said:  “It’s very important that we support young people in our community, whether they are aiming for the Olympic Games or just need a helping hand to reach and achieve their full potential.”
