Marshall Motor Group and the Sytner Group have announced acquisitions today.

Marshall Motor Group has completed the purchase of Tim Brinton Cars and the Sytner Group, Hughenden BMW in High Wycombe.

Tim Brinton Cars is a privately owned business with a portfolio of franchises including Peugeot, Citroen and Vauxhall and six dealerships in Cambridge, Bury St Edmunds, Ely and St Neots. The dealerships will continue to trade under the Tim Brinton name.

Roger Knight, Marshall Motor Group chief executive, said: "Tim Brinton Cars has an excellent reputation in the industry and also its customers. We look forward to welcoming the team into the group and to continuing their good work within the expanded group."

The Sytner acquisition brings the number of BMW dealerships to eight within its 43-strong prestige network.

Hughenden BMW will be renamed Sytner.

Andrew Hulcoop, has been appointed to take the place of John Hamilton as managing director of the dealership as well as Sytner's Gerrards Cross site.

Mr Hulcoop said: "John and his team have done a great job establishing an excellent centre for BMW in the High Wycombe area.

"We will build on that reputation and bring investment to the area to enhance the BMW experience for customers.

"The group holds more than £10m of used car stock. As a sole importer of the range of BMW Alpina vehicles, we will bring this unique driving experience to High Wycombe and later in the year we will launch BMW's Mini."
