A survey by Automotive Management's sister-title Fleet News analysing the reliability of 620,000 vehicles reveals that the Honda Accord and Toyota Avensis are the most reliable company cars on the road.

The survey listed vehicles according to the lowest number of breakdowns per 100 cars on company fleets. Points for reliability were accredited each time a vehicle was cited by a leasing company, awarding five points for a first place, to one point for a fifth. Only multi-marque leasing companies took part.

Fleet News' managing editor Jonathan Manning said: "Top place for the British-built Honda Accord provides a welcome boost to British manufacturing, as some manufacturers review the future of car manufacturing in the UK. The company has already earned a reputation for reliable motoring and 11 of the leasing companies agreed that it provided some of the most reliable vehicles they ran - with the Accord in the top five among six of them."
