Kia is celebrating the success of its seven seat Sedona MPV, sales of which have increased by 155% year-on-year to the end of April. The car now accounts for 33% of all Kia sales, followed by the Shuma (29%) which has seen a 49% year-on-year sales surge.

The average list price of Kia sales has gone up from approximately £9,250 in the first quarter of 2000 to over £12,000 in 2001.

Mark Quinn, managing director Kia Cars (UK) Limited, said: "The new range launched in 1999 has brought new customers to Kia and seen two consecutive record-breaking years. Over the coming three months we will be launching three new products, the Magentis and New Mentor saloons and Rio hatchback which will further consolidate our range."
