HPI, the independent used vehicle information service, has been awarded a solus endorsement contract by Honda UK to provide online HPI and NMR checks/investigations to support the carmaker's approved used car programme. This partnership marks the first of many new innovations to be unveiled by HPI and Honda UK for its 192-strong dealership network.

Following the successful launch of the new online trade service earlier this year, HPI has been working with motor retailers to develop branded services that provide protection for both the dealer and the consumer. Honda Approved Used dealers will be able to conduct real time online HPI checks with visitors in the showroom, but these checks will be branded to the manufacturer, strengthening the total offering of the Honda Approved Used Programme.

Simon Laughton, Honda used car development manager said: “It is vital that our dealers have complete confidence in the vehicles they are selling on their forecourts. In turn, our customers must have confidence in our dealers and the Honda name when they buy from us.

"The independence of HPI gives it great flexibility to tailor its services so that they fit transparently within our approved used programme.

"We moved to solus supplier status with HPI because they offered us a long term partnership that would deliver immediate bottom line benefits to our dealers, as well as innovative ideas which will encourage enhancements to the Honda Approved Used Programme in the future.” “HPI has been investing significantly in developing a revolutionary approach to used vehicle investigations and we are continuing to adapt our services to reflect the changing needs of the used car market. “Our aim is to work with Honda to create a premium service for their Approved Used Dealers, whilst reinforcing the Honda brand in the consumer marketplace. Through the HPI and NMR Checks and branded certificates we will provide a valuable support system to Honda dealers, leaving them confident in the fact that they are selling quality vehicles to their customers.”
