Vauxhall has revamped its van dealer network to focus more on light commercial vehicles.

The network has been developed into a two-tier operation dealing with heavy vans and light vans.

The heavy can section comprises 111 dealers, down from 170. They will sell and service every vehicle in the Vauxhall van range from the Corsavan to Movano.

Light van dealers, a 100-strong network, will specialise in selling or servicing Corsavan, Astravan and Combo.

All dealers will have to meet stringent standards, including offering demonstrator and courtesy vehicles, specialist tools and skills. Ian Hucker, Vauxhall national van sales manager, said: "We are already seeing the fruits of the changes in increased interest in our range. Prospective customers feel confident about a product when they know that every dealer will have someone on its staff specifically focused on vans." Mr Hucker is confident that Vauxhall, whcih took 10.7% of the UK van market, will increase its share this year.
