The latest EurotaxGlass's Fleet index shows signs of a recovery in residual values. Although average values were 0.1 % lower than 12 months ago this is significantly better than the previous quarter (0.8%). The index measures 3-year trade values for approximately 40 benchmark models, which are important for the fleet market. In the UK the annualised decline improved to -2.2%.

After a period when the gap between petrol and diesel values was narrowing, the gap has increased for the third successive quarter. Across Europe's national markets small segment diesels continue to show the best performance with values for all models except the Corsa increasing. In contrast the Small Petrol model segment is the worst performing with Renault Clio, Opel Corsa and Fiat Punto showing significant declines.

In the Lower Medium Segment only the Astra and Almera have positive trends for both petrol and diesel models with the Brava the worst performing. The diesel Corolla and Xsara are also performing particularly well.

In the Upper Medium segment, the best performing petrol models is the Primera and C Class the best diesel model. The diesel Xantia and Laguna are also performing well. In the Executive segment the Mercedes E Class as always is the best performer in terms of increases and absolute % RV.
