Administrators of failed Bridlington-based former Lada Niva and Tata pickup and SUV importer Motor Vehicle Industries (MVI), says it is in negotiations with an interested buyer over the sale of parts of the business.

MVI's vehicle import business was recently discontinued with the Indian vehicle manufacturer's decision to team up with MG Rover to import its Indica supermini for distribution in the UK and Europe. And MG Rover's parent Phoenix is to set up a new company to import and market Tata's SUV range as an MG Rover companion brand.

The receivers, accountancy firm Kroll, is seeking buyers for MVI's ex-fleet vehicle reconditioning and parts distribution facilities, which employs 83 people.
