Visitors to this year's 60th Frankfurt International Automobile Show will see over 30 new model launches and vehicle concepts. Among the most crucial launches for their manufacturers' sales are VW's 5th generation Golf, GM's 5thgeneration Astra, and from Jaguar, the X-Type Estate, the brand's first-ever series production estate car. Sister PAG brand Volvo launches the new S40, while Land Rover is showing 2004 revisions to the Freelander. Aston Martin's DB9 (DB7 successor) is also making its world debut at Frankfurt.

BMW has the new 5-Series and the X3 SUV on show, while Renault will show the 7-seater Grand Scenic and the hot hatch variant of the new Megane. Peugeot is showing a prototype 4-seater hatchback study called the 407 Elixir, hinting at elements of the future replacement for the 406 range.

Among more exotic offerings are a diesel-only roadster concept from Mazda, and Toyota's first hybrid sports car, the 'CS&S'. DaimlerChrysler is launching the new SLR McLaren, and Audi is showing a Le Mans Quattro supercar derived from work on sister brand Lamorghini's smallest model.
