Exide Technologies has renewed its supplier agreement with Autodistribution International Ltd. (ADI), the largest aftarmarket parts distribution network in Europe.

Exide began supplying the Autodistribution network in France in the mid-eighties. Exide's Transportation Business Group will be supplying a range of products to ADI, including batteries and MAXXIMA-branded products. The batteries are marketed under the AD private label, along with the Exide, Fulmen and Tudor labels.

"Autodistribution International sells more than two million batteries every year across Europe, and Exide is our main supplier, said Omer Wesemael, General Manager, Autodistribution International Ltd. The company, established in 1970, is based in Brussels. Through its 16 national partners, ADI represents more than 600 automotive wholesale businesses, with a network of some 2,000 wholesale outlets through 21 countries that serve a market of 192 million cars.

ADI is perhaps best known in the UK for its ill-fated acquisition of the now liquidated Finelist factor chain.
