Dealers will now be able to add their used-car stock to The Times and The Sunday Times newspapers website, Times Online.

By forwarding used-car stock data to the Car Locator service, customers can search for the car they want through a service provided by HPI.

HPI will provide a broader pool of vehicles for buyers. This, in turn, will give HPI subscribers exposure to a wide customer base.

Times Online's Driving section provides information about new and used-cars, which it hopes will make buying cars online easier. In addition to the Car Locator, the section includes the latest motoring news and features, buying guides, archives of new and used car reviews, plus online price and specification comparison tools.

Dealers have full access to load vehicle descriptions, images and specification data through an editor facility. The forwarding service is free to all HPI subscribers and helps dealers publish, manage and locate vehicle stock through a variety of sources nationwide in real time.

Martin Brassell, director of HPI says: “This is a great opportunity for HPI as a stock management provider, and with Times Online we can now offer our dealers access to a customer base outside the traditional motor websites. Every car checked using HPI Exchange can be automatically advertised on Times Online, helping dealers reach new markets they haven't previously been able to explore.”
