World premier for new Matiz at Geneva

The new Chevrolet Matiz will make its world première at the Geneva Motor Show in March.

It will join the new Chevrolet family of small and medium family cars at Chevrolet retailers across the UK in June.

The new Matiz will be available in two trim levels, SE and SX.

The new Matiz will also have a choice of two Euro 4 engines – a 0.8 litre three-cylinder 52bhp unit and a 1.0 litre four-cylinder 66bhp unit.

Fuel consumption is around 15% lower than their predecessors.

Both engines also benefit from developments that improve overall noise and engine isolation, such as a three-point torque axis/hydromount engine installation and all-new inlet and exhaust systems optimised for airflow and noise levels through the use of new materials. Low friction valve gear, with roller cam followers, also quieter running.

Compared to its predecessor, the average fuel consumption for the 0.8-litre model has gone down by 15% from 46.3mpg to 54.3mpg. The reduction for the four-cylinder version is similar, with consumption dropping from 44.1mpg to 50.4 mpg.

Full details of the technical specification, model range, features and prices will be announced at Geneva.
