East Anglian dealer group Busseys has added another Ford dealership to its existing five retail outlets with the acquisition of a showroom in Attleborough, Norfolk.

The dealership, previously operated by Dingles Motor Group, was bought for an undisclosed sum, and all Dingles’ staff have been retained. Busseys says group turnover will now exceed £50m.

“If the opportunity to buy another dealership presented itself we would be interested,” says Paul Bussey, marketing director. “But we are not aggressively looking.” Similarly, he does not discount buying a non-Ford franchise. “Never say never,” he says.

Bussey was unwilling to reveal Attleborough’s projected sales until he discusses the targets with staff, but he describes Ford as a “fantastic franchise”.

The family-owned business has been a Ford-exclusive dealer since it was founded in 1918. It has sales and service centres in Fakenham, Dereham and Swaffham plus three sites in Norwich housing two dealerships and an accident repair centre.

Dingles continues to operate Toyota franchises in Attleborough, Norwich and Lowestoft.
