Kia Motors has announced that sales in Europe rose to 78% in April to 21,580 units.

Kia has sold more than 85,000 vehicles so far in 2005 – a 73% increase on last year. The best-selling Kia in Europe is the Picanto (6,331 units), followed by the Sorento (3,732 units).

"The latest Kia products have all been designed with European consumers in mind," says Jean-Charles Lievens, senior vice president Kia Europe.

"Our sales this year clearly demonstrate that our model range meet the motoring needs of European customers and their families. In mid-summer the undoubted appeal of Kia’s cars will be heightened by the arrival of the all-new B-segment Rio and the new diesel engine which is sure to further accelerate our already positive sales momentum."
