IM Group is aiming to increase sales of parts and accessories across all its Daihatsu, Isuzu and Subaru retailers in the UK, in order to boost dealer profits and its own revenues.

To support this strategy IM has appointed three regional managers who will encourage dealers to focus more on parts and accessories, an area the group has identified as a potential growth opportunity currently not being exploited.

Russell Smith, previously with Nissan and with 23 years experience in the business, will give support throughout the East region while Scott Glover, who joins IM Group from Audi UK where he was area quality manager, will cover the West.

Finally, David Gregg, previously Nissan trade development manager, will be responsible for a larger area including Scotland, Northern Ireland and Northern England, where there is less representation from the three brands.

The newly appointed managers will work day-to-day with different dealers, analysing sales patterns and identifying new incentives or marketing opportunities for dealers to increase parts and accessory sales.

New car buyers will be a particular focus, but dealers will also be encouraged to target existing owners bringing in vehicles for servicing or repairs.

All three will report to Nick Pugh, general manager for IM Parts and Service.

“We face an exciting opportunity to grow Subaru, Isuzu and Daihatsu sales and are determined to match this with improved parts and accessories business, which will also help dealer profitability,” says Pugh.
