Former Emap Automotive managing director, Ken Forbes, has been appointed MD of SsangYong UK.

A graduate of Heriot-Watt University, Forbes joined the Ford Motor Company as a graduate trainee and spent a number of years in management at Ford, prior to joining Citroen in the UK. Forbes spent 13 years with Citroen, the last five years as sales director. He left Citroen in 2001 to take up the position of managing director of Emap Automotive, AM and AM-online publisher.

SsangYong says it is poised for further growth with the introduction of three new models in addition to the Rexton and Rodius range.

Central to the development of the marque will be the doubling in size of the UK network, which currently stands at 53 dealerships.
