Sytner Group has acquired nine Ryland Group dealerships for an undisclosed sum.

They include DaimlerChrysler businesses in Carlisle, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Stockton-on-Tees and Sunderland, together with the BMW and Mini dealerships at Cardiff, Newport, Birmingham Central, Warley and Sutton Coldfield.

The remaining Ryland businesses have been retained by the existing shareholders under the new Group name of Rybrook Holdings.

Peter Whale, chief executive of Rybrook Holdings (and former chief executive of Ryland Group), said: “The sale of a number of dealerships to Sytner Group will provide the new company with a secure financial base from which to go forward.

“I am pleased they are going to Sytner which provides a similar culture and environment to Ryland that rewards, respects and develops individual talents.”

The BMW/Mini and Mercedes dealerships will keep the Rydale name. Sytner will rename the Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge businesses as Kings in line with its existing operations.
