Gordon Lamb has appointed Kheng Lim as its finance director and new board member.

Lim was recruited by the dealer group last year to review its management reporting processes and to oversee the implementation of a new dealer management system.

Kheng takes over from Mike Hyatt who has held this position for six years.

Stephen Lamb, chief executive officer, said: “In today’s market place, in which lean margins mean that a lean cost base is essential, it is also equally imperative that the board be not only unanimous in both approach and business attitude but also small enough to be able to react dynamically and are able to quickly agree upon, and implement, new initiatives as the business requires.

"The Gordon Lamb board today consists of just five members, beneath which now sits a strong general management team comprised of nine further colleagues, including three newly recruited GMs, all of whom provide sound operational management and are entrenched in the daily activities of the business.

"I feel we now have a stronger base for future growth next year and I look forward to seeing the continual improvement of the overall business picture as the year progresses and we move forwards together into 2007."
