Reagroup UK, Renault’s own dealer group, has acquired Lewis Reed in Birkenhead for an undisclosed sum.

The site in Woodchurch Road has been re-launched as Renault Wirral with immediate effect.

The acquisition is part of Reagroup UK’s ongoing multi-million pound development and construction programme for this year. This includes recently completed dealerships in Bolton and Cannock, as well as the refurbishment of its existing sites in Liverpool and Wolverhampton.

Ian Plummer, managing director of Reagroup UK, said: “This is only the latest phase of our overall strategy to strengthen our position in the UK market, and it fits perfectly with our aim to fully develop our sales and aftersales representation in the north west of England.”

Plummer also said that he plans to develop a number of new sites that will specialise in used cars and will carry on its Autoworld branding.

Reagroup UK, formerly known as Renault Retail Group, is part of Reagroup - Europe’s largest automobile distributor and is 100% owned by Renault.
