Top Technicians get down to the final three

The three finalists in the prestigious Top Technician 2007 competition have been announced as part of the search to find the UK’s best garage mechanic.

Clive Atthowe, of Clive Atthowe Tuning in Norwich, David Wagstaff, of DC Mardles Motor Engineer in Exeter and Elliot Waters, of Dick Lovett Ferrari Maserati in Swindon made the final cut after 12 semi-finalists competed in four practical challenges at the Automotive Trade Show earlier this month.

Each finalist had already scored highly on two question papers and achieved at least diagnostic level Automotive Technician Accreditation (ATA), awarded by the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI), to reach the semi-final.

The trio now go forward to an awards ceremony on June 11, to announce the winner, who will receive £2,000 in cash and a selection of sponsor prizes.
