The John Clark Motor Group has reported a 11% rise in retail sales for the first four months of 2007 with sales for each month topping 1,000.

Mini dealerships in Aberdeen and Dundee have enjoyed particular success, with sales in Aberdeen up 43% and Dundee reporting a 57% increase compared to last year.

Aberdeen Audi is also realising the benefits of the £1.5m redevelopment of the dealership last September. Sales over the first four months of this year were up 33%.

John Downie, marketing director of the John Clark Motor Group, said: “There is no doubt that the market overall remains challenging, but these record figures demonstrate continuing steady growth within the group.

“The sales success reflects well on the hard work put in by our 12 dealership teams in Aberdeen, Dundee, Kirkcaldy and Edinburgh. They also underline the wisdom of the group’s investment to ensure that these dealerships have the facilities they need to produce these results.”

In the past year the group has invested £4.25m in its dealership network. This includes £4m on Audi dealerships in Aberdeen and Dundee as well as the development of the new specialist cars Seat dealership in Aberdeen earlier this year.
