He will develop and expand the sales operation for Motorplan with both independent and franchise dealers across the UK.
Cooper originally joined The Warranty Group eight years ago when it was owned by Aon, overseeing the developing of a finance and insurance programme for First National Motor Finance and eventually heading up the corporate motor team.
He left to join his family's property management business before returning to The Warranty Group in his new role.
Cooper said: "Motorplan is an excellent, market leading product with a pedigree dating back to 1964 and we are determined to underline its strengths to the independent and franchise dealer sectors.
"The warranty market is, as always, highly competitive but presents many opportunities for dealers to increase their revenue with the right approach - and we aim to help them maximise those opportunities."
