Essential Dealership Training, a new company specialising in training car sales executives, has launched a training course with a legal twist.

'Close that car sale' was developed with motor trade legal firm Lawgistics and provides delegates with sales training and legal knowledge of the burning issues within the industry.

Delegates will receive training on trading standards legislation and the legalities of distance selling, as well as correct handover compliance.

Nick Horton, EDT partner, said: "Sales executives have a limited knowledge of the legal obligations that their jobs might entail and this course deals with that."

Dealers pay £597 but EDT does offer discounts for groups.

The company guarantees that delegates will implement the training from 'close that car sale'. Dealers can claim back the cost of the course if they have not made £8,000 profit per delegate within two months of them being back at the dealership.

'Close that car sale' started in October and the nine places per course have been booked until February.
