Pinewood has revealed that 57% of its dealer management system sales this year have come through Vauxhall and Saab dealers.

The large representation from the two brands follows General Motors’ approval of Pinewood’s Pinnacle DMS system late last year.

Neville Briggs, Pinewood managing director, said: “We’ve enjoyed success far more quickly in this part of the market than we imagined would be possible a few months ago.

“Pleasingly, many of the sales that we have generated have been as the result of word of mouth recommendations.”

GM certification for Pinnacle was confirmed after a testing process carried out by the manufacturer’s Technical Vendor Assistance (TVA) operator CAP Gemini.

The DMS provides Vauxhall and Saab customers with full integration into the GM systems including: parts order entry, parts order acknowledgement, Rapier parts replenishment, web parts locator, trade club, EPC3, warranty claims, warranty acknowledgements, warranty corrections, TIS2000, vehicle order acknowledgements and Trackerpac (BPI).

Briggs added: “Integration is important because it allows process improvements that can demonstrably reduce task time and cost of sale for dealers as well as provide automated reporting for manufacturers."

Pinewood also holds approvals for its DMS from Peugeot, Honda, Saab, Land Rover, Jaguar, Ford, Hyundai, Citroen, Suzuki and Mitsubishi.
