BMW will be stretching its model range even further this year with the introduction of the new X1 on October 24.
The new X1 is what BMW calls its first sports activity vehicle and has X5 styling on what looks like a beefed up 1 Series platform.
The new model will be the first X model with auto start-stop function as part of BMW’s EfficientDynamics package.
Customers will have a choice of three diesel engines and for the first time on a BMW X product, the option to have rear-wheel drive (sDrive) or four-wheel drive (xDrive).
The X1 won’t get a petrol engine on sale in the UK from launch. Customers can choose from three diesels and can choose between rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive versions.
