Jaguar Land Rover has told some of its most talented UK managers to consider relocating to China or risk being passed over for boardroom roles.

The carmaker's HR director has told the Daily Telegraph he has held pointed discussions with up to five top employees urging them to consider assignments in China, Russia or America to help JLR capitalise on emerging markets.

China is now JLR's third largest global market after the UK and USA.
