Land Rover has created a limited edition of its Freelander 2 which will go on sale in the UK at the start of next year with prices starting at £33,945.

There will be 500 of the Freelander 2 SD4 Sport limited editions available in the UK.

The Freelander 2 SD4 Sport is powered by the new 188bhp diesel engine. This Limited Edition (available with automatic transmission only) accelerates from 0-60mph in 8.7 seconds with an increased top speed of 118mph.

The use of Land Rover’s intelligent power management system (IPMS) provides ‘smart charging’ of the battery by recovering kinetic energy when the vehicle is slowing wherever possible and in addition to this, the Freelander 2 Sport SD4 Limited Edition is compatible with 10% biodiesel rather than 5%.

The Freelander 2 is currently Land Rover’s best-selling model, with over 215,000 sold globally since its launch in 2006.
