The Vindis Group has acquired Peterborough Audi from Jardine Motors Group for an undisclosed sum.

Effective from October 1, the business became the latest addition to a portfolio of 19 Volkswagen Group outlets that the Vindis Group operate, spanning five counties.

Vindis operations director Jamie Vindis said: “We are delighted to welcome the team at Peterborough Audi to the Vindis Group.

"We know that change can be an uncertain time for those it concerns, but I am confident that the dedication and experience of the team at Peterborough Audi, and the Vindis Group as a whole, will ensure this is an easy transition and the foundation of many successful years of trading together.

"The dealership has a well respected and established reputation within both the local community and the wider automotive industry. Their passion and drive for excellence results in an outstanding and seamless service, which is as prestigious as the vehicles they provide."

The group, he said, purchased the business to "extend our geographical porfolio". It will continue to trade as Peterborough Audi.

The dealership was formerly part of the Wayside Group network, which was bought by Jardine in May this year.

> Established in 1960, Vindis Group represents Audi, Bentley, Skoda and Volkswagen.

The family-run company, headquartered in Huntingdon, also represents Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles and owns and operates a bodyshop business which has achieved BSI Kitemark status.

It employs around 800 people at 17 outlets across Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, Bedforshire and Northamptonshire.

Turnover in 2010 was £243 million on 11,500 car sales and 500 LCVs.
