Marshall Motor Group has today completed
its acquisition of the Honda business in Harrogate from Pendragon for an undisclosed sum.

Marshall has represented Honda for 19 years and this new addition brings the group’s total number of Honda businesses to eight.

With seven car businesses in Peterborough, Leicester South, Leicester North, Hull, Scarborough and York, plus one motorcycle dealership in Peterborough, Marshall is now Honda’s largest partner in the UK.

Making the announcement, Daksh Gupta, chief executive of Marshalls, said: “We are delighted to have acquired this business from Pendragon
and to be extending our Honda partnership.

"This Harrogate business is in a great territory which fits well with our existing, neighbouring Honda businesses in York, Scarborough and Hull, making one, large contiguous territory.

"It also furthers our stated strategy to build strong relationships with our manufacturer brand partners and to grow nationally with
scalable businesses, as we have done in Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Cumbria and Lancashire over the last two years.”

Marshalls acquired its existing three Honda businesses in Yorkshire at the beginning of 2009 and the two Leicestershire dealerships in March 2010.

Gupta said: “We have a very strong partnership with Honda which will be strengthened by this acquisition and we are very grateful to Honda for their support throughout this process. I have already had the pleasure meeting a number of our new colleagues who have all transferred to Marshall and I look forward to welcoming them all to the Marshall family.”
